I just checked on my ABIT NF7-S REV 2.0 and it works fine. I'm sure enough there is some flag that allows the change of some other bits or not. Unfortunately, I've got no datasheet for anything from nVidia (they are absolutely the only one chipset makers that NEVER answered any email: I even found that they had a malfunctioning mail server for months, but who cares?, since they seem not to read emails? :-)). |
Shame as it would probably increase the cooling on the shuttle computers. I guess the shuttle nforce2 motherboard is a bit different to the normal form factor mobo's. The halt detect bit definitely cannot be set to on in the status window of speedfan, on my shuttle. Perhaps you could email shuttle tech support, they are not too bad and might give some info on the nforce chipset. |
When things like this happen, I'm sure enough that a BIOS update should fix them. It might be Shuttle decided to disable that feature because, say, it might put too much load on the power supply. If you get any answer from Shuttle, feel free to let me know. I tried to contact so many manufacturers (without ever getting any answer) that I stopped emailing them... |

I'm asking around the shuttle forums to confirm if it is just me, or if everyone has the same problem with the sn41g2's. Then ill email shuttle and cross my fingers, last time i recieved an email from tech support, it was in very bad english ;p |
