Do you have a solution for this problem? I use the same laptop with a Vista x64 system and get the same exception on start after setting "Dell support".

Exception on start with 4.37:
Access violation at address 0062E23F in module 'speedfan.exe'. Read of address 00000038.

DELL support automatic detection can't work on every hardware. That's the reason why it can be disabled in CONFIGURE / OPTIONS. Unfortunately, there are a lot of users that use *custom* BIOSes containing DELL signatures to fake Windows into thinking to be installed on a DELL, thus requiring no key.

@tr2k
Which is your motherboard model? Is it from DELL?

According to CPU-Z its DELL Inc. 0YD479. Other information you will find in the cpuz.txt attachement.

Does SpeedFan work if you disable DELL support?

After looking at different reports it seems that this issue happens when using a 64 bit OS. I will look at my source code.

After deleting config files SpeedFan works but without fan control.

The forthcoming beta won't try to access DELL sensors on 64 bit systems.
This fixes this issue.
